Not gonna bore you with large chunks of text so here’s a list of all the best food I had during my trip to Tokyo with location tags and why they are great. Going in chronological order.
1. Katsuo Shokudo
Very famous with good reason. Long line every morning. Freshly shaved bonito on warm rice. Suggest you add an egg for a great textural experience. Love their no-waste condiments too.

2. MONICA
Best croissant I’ve ever had in my life. So ultra crispy and flaky with a decadent chewy and buttery interior. Make sure to get it hot.

3. Tamawarai
Soba restaurant with a Michelin star. Waited for 2 hours so make sure to arrive early. Small portions so can try more flavors. 85% buckwheat noodles.

4. Ginza Shimada
Standing quaint izakaya-like but quiet and chill. Seasonal and elegant kaiseki. Reservations only (can make in person). Every dish was great, can’t go wrong.

5. Ginza Kimuraya
Amazing ebi sando and traditional Japanese bakery. Different types of anpan (red bean bread)

6. Shunnoaji Takashita
Grilled fish lunch sets. Prepare to be in line with locals.

7. Uoshin
Classic izakaya with amazing shirako and fried amadai. Japanese menu only.


📍4 Chome-8-12 Ginza, Chuo City, Tokyo 104-0061, Japan
8. Bills Ginza
Fluffy ricotta hotcakes.

9. Kawamuraya
Amazing pickled cucumber. Both the bonito and ume flavor. Also has a wide range of tsukemono you can buy back.

10. Bakery_BANK
The best breakfast: mentaiko baguette followed by their signature sugar toast.

11. Sasuga ginza
Sakura ebi tempura. Juwari Soba. I recommend their weekday ¥3,900 lunch set.

12. Zourokusushi
If you’re looking for an expensive omakase experience, I recommend this.

13. Pain des Philosophes
Amazing bread to take home, recommend their alpha baguette and asama shokupan. Love their croissant and pain au choculat too. Quite busy.

15. Nunotsunesarashina
Located outside of the city (near Haneda airport). Perfect last meal surrounded by locals eating delicious soba. Their tamagoyaki is 10/10.


📍3 Chome-18-8 Minamioi, Shinagawa City, Tokyo 140-0013, Japan
